A home improvement store will not be coming to Manhattan after all.

The Manhattan Mercury reports today that Menards has pulled out of a commitment to build a 200,000 square foot store for the McCall landing project.

Store officials say the economic situation is the reason for the decision.

Mernards was one of five stores planned for the project.
