TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) _ Gov. Kathleen Sebelius questions whether
Kansas legislators are moving quickly enough to address a state
budget deficit.

The Democratic governor issued a statement Monday saying she's
disappointed with the leaders of the House's Republican majority.

They have not set a date for debate on $323 million in adjustments to the budget for the fiscal year that ends June 30. But they had been leaning toward Thursday. Sebelius said any delays increase the uncertainty for people affected by budget adjustments.

The House plan was drafted by its Appropriations Committee. A little less than half of its adjustments are spending cuts. The rest come from accounting changes and refinancing state bonds.
