(Topeka, KS)--When President Obama signed an executive order to close Guantanamo Bay within one year, Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins sent a message -- don't send those prisoners to Leavenworth, Kansas.

"It's unfortunate we put a timeline on this and had no plan," Jenkins said.

She was in Topeka Saturday meeting with constituents at the open house of her new Topeka office. She said she wasn't necessarily against closing Guantanamo Bay -- she said that is up to Obama. But she does not want those prisoners in Kansas.

She said the prison isn't equipped to handle the detainees, and has invited obama to come to leavenworth to see for himself. She said there is no airport close except for Kansas City International. She also said it is not a good idea to bring them to a post where top personnel train -- it would make it a top terrorist target.
