A judge agrees with the request for a Topeka man charged with second degree murder to undergo a competency exam.
24-year-old James Qualls was in court Friday.
He is charged in the fatal shooting of Joseph Beier Junior.
Beier was shot and killed July 16th at the Whiplash Bar, at 21st and California.
Qualls turned himself in to authorities July 31st.
He'll be back in court February 9th.
