KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) _ Propane tanks exploded inside a Kansas
City warehouse overnight, making the 3-alarm fire even riskier for
firefighters to put out.

The first alarm was sounded at around 1:30 Monday morning in the two-story brick and stone structure where wooden pallets and
propane tanks were stored. Kansas City Fire Battalion Chief Joe
Vitale said the blaze spread to an adjacent single-story warehouse.

Vitale said crews armed with large-stream hand lines kept the flames from spreading to a third warehouse.

A number of propane and other tanks inside the burning warehouse exploded, posing an added threat to firefighters.

The cause of the fire is under investigation and no injuries were reported.
