Symphony Fills White Concert Hall

TOPEKA, Kan.- Three days before the inauguration of our nation's 44th president , it was a celebration of all things American on Washburn University's campus Saturday.

The Topeka Symphony Orchestra played an "American Heritage" program to commemorate the Bicentenary of the Birth of Abraham Lincoln.

In honor of the former president, the symphony also performed Aaron Copland's "A Lincoln Portrait" an orchestra and narration based on excerpts from Lincoln's speeches, including the Gettysburg Address.
