MCCONNELL AIR FORCE BASE, Kansas - Some 40 new jobs are
coming to McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita to help fill a shortfall in an Air Force Reserve unit.
Rep. Todd Tiahrt says the full-time maintenance positions will
be for the 931st Reserve Air Refueling Group. The unit is gradually
adding staff to keep aircraft based at McConnell operationally
ready for missions. The positions are expected to be filled by
March.
Tiahrt's district includes the base. He says ongoing funding for
the positions should be included in the Department of Defense
budget request later this spring.
