NTSB Releases Findings on Chopper Crash

The Topeka Police helicopter crash landed April fifth of last year in the parking lot of Washburn University. On the way down it hit a light pole, resting on its side. All three people on board walked away.

The National Transportation Safety Board released its findings. It states the pilot heard the engine rev up, saw gages out of wack and then heard an alarm warning about a low rotor.

The report lists a malfunctioning magneto as the probable cause for the mechanical failure.
