HUTCHINSON, Kan. A Hutchinson man has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of his wife whose body was found on Christmas Day.

Thirty-year-old Stephen Jones appeared yesterday in Reno County
District Court to hear the charge filed against him.

He was being held on $1 million bond.

Jones was arrested at the home of a relative hours after officers found the body of 30-year-old Sabrina Jones in her apartment.

She was the mother of three children, ages 4 to 12.

But they were staying with another relative when their mother died.

Reno County District Court Records show Jones was convicted in
2004 of attempted aggravated assault.

He initially had been charged with domestic battery in the case and was released from supervision in 2005 after successfully completing probation.
