Students at Williams Science and Fine Arts Magnet School are getting a lesson in budgeting and helping their community in the meantime.
Fourth-graders from Miss Mercer and Mrs. Gordon's classes have been collecting money every day, which they then budget so they can buy needed supplies for their adopted families.
When they count the money, they not only see much is there, but how much it weighs. Each class tries to gess how much the total weight of the money raised will be. Whichever class comes closest to approximating the money's sum weight will win a pizza party.
So far the students have raised over $340.00
