Sebelius spokeswoman Nicole Corcoran said, "It was just like what was described in other states.''
The letter arrived at the governor's office at the Statehouse and a staffer opened it at noon, Corcoran said. Sebelius was in her office at the time.
Capitol police have closed off the reception area to Sebelius' office, but they haven't sealed her private office, Corcoran said.
Corcoran said, "No danger has been identified with the substance.''
