Kansas Ranks Top 10 Deadliest Hotspots for Fatal Teen Crashes

The holidays are one of the deadliest times of the year for teen drivers. In a recent Allstate Teen Driving Hotspot study, out of the 50 states, Kansas is ranked No. 9 for fatal teen car crashes per capita between Thanksgiving and New Years Day.

With winter driving conditions, the roads can be a deadly obstacle for inexperienced teen drivers. Couple winter driving conditions with distractions such as cell phones and multiple passengers, and an automobile becomes a deadly weapon for teens and other drivers on the road.

According to data examined from 2000-2007, the Allstate study reveals that Kansas experiences an average of 9.85 teen traffic fatalities per capita each year in less than two months, during Thanksgiving and New Year's Day.
