The Topeka Police Department is one step closer to its accreditation.
An inspection team arrived Sunday and left early Wednesday morning.
They are looking into whether TPD meets all the Commission of Accreditations 460 state of the art standards. Sgt. Lance Feyh told 13 News the on-site inspectors are taking their reports from the inspection to a conference in Florida in February for review, where they will be presented to the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies.
The commission will then vote to approve or deny accreditation. Feyh says, overall, he expects it will be approved.
