Topekans answered the call to make sure all families have a Happy Holiday.
The United Way siad its Christmas Bureau was inundated with phone calls Monday and Tuesday after it extended its deadline to adopt a family to ensure every family would be helped.
At the time, there were still 900 families needing asstistance with food and gifts to get through the holidays.
The United Way is still working to make make matches.
Any families not privately adopted will still be taken care of throught the Salvation Army and other local organizations.
