All aspects of the Topeka Police Department are under the microscope as the law enforcement agency seeks accreditation.
A public hearing was held Monday night at the Law Enforcement Center on the topic.
An assessment team is looking into whether TPD meets all the Commission of Accreditation's 460 state of the art standards. Community members were invited to attend to speak and ask questions about the accreditation process.
Police Chief Ron Miller says the process is important because it lets the public know that someone from the outside is looking at the agency and examining how it operates in serving the public.
The accreditation team will be in Topeka until Wednesday.
