LEAVENWORTH, Kan. (AP) _ A former fifth-grade teacher in northeast Kansas will be sentenced next year for inappropriately touching three students.
Floyd M. Rogers Jr. pleaded no contest Wednesday to three counts of attempted aggravated indecent liberties with children. A Leavenworth County district judge found Rogers guilty and will sentence him Jan. 9.
Rogers could get probation. Prosecutors have said they would not be opposed to that since he agreed to plead out.
Rogers taught fifth grade at an elementary school in Basehor, a suburban Kansas City community in Leavenworth County, Kan. Three girls who were students there alleged he touched the outside of their clothing in an inappropriate way.
The incidents happened during the 2004-2005 and 2005-2006 school years.
