Topeka High School students said "thanks" to a special group of staffers Tuesday.

To celebrate "Nurses Appreciation Day," the student government asked everyone to honor the school's nurses and health aides by dressing like a nurse.

The school's health staff says they enjoy the kids and the job. Health aide Katie Pittaway says it can be a challenge to be in such a large building with so many students, but it's something different every day and she enjoys it.

The school health staff deals with issues like daily medications and medical treatments, plus the several dozen kids who come in with colds or flu each day and the occasional emergency situation.
