Fort Riley Kicking Off Holiday Season

FORT RILEY, Kan. (AP) _ The holiday season gets started this week for soldiers and families at Fort Riley, starting with a traditional Thanksgiving meal.

A holiday meal will be served Tuesday for soldiers, family members and civilians at the dining hall of the 4th Brigade, 1st Infantry Division.

Meals will be served Thanksgiving at the Main Post, Camp Funston and 2nd Brigade dining facilities. A worship service will be held for soldiers, families and guests at the Morris Hill Chapel in the morning.

From Dec. 10-12, families of deployed and wounded soldiers will be able to pick up a free Christmas trees, with proof of identification. After Dec. 12, trees will be made available to remaining soldiers and families.
