(Topeka, KS)--A local bar and several apartments are being shut down due unsafe conditions, leaving about 15 people looking for a place to live. Many of these displaced people have mental or financial problems.

Topeka Police were called to a disturbance at the Twilighter Country Club -- and while there, discovered horrible living conditions at the apartments.

One police officer, Lt. Russ Klumpp, said there were too many problems to name them all. Now the club and the apartments have until 5:00 Monday -- then they'll be boarded up.

TPD is working with groups such as SRS and the Topeka Rescue Mission to help.

All but one of the displaced people have found homes or likely homes -- and Lt. Klumpp says he hopes to find somewhere for the last person to go as well.
