Shawnee County District Judge Gets Cease and Desist Order

Vouching for the man accused in a fatal hunting accident. earned a Shawnee County district judge a Cease and Desist order. Friday's order from the Commission on Judicial Qualifications stemmed from testimony in the case against Thomas Kent. He was convicted in the shooting death of Beau Arndt.

Judge Daniel Mitchell voluntarily testified as a character witness in the case. The Commission on Judicial qualifications said Friday that it goes against judicial codes.

In the order, Judge Mitchell acknowledged it was a mistake and expressed regret for his action.
