Its not just about piggy banks anymore for some Topeka middle school students. Friday, they learned all about responsible money management.
Sixth, seventh and eighth grade students from USD 501 and USD 437 participated in the "Money Smart Financial Management Camp."
They learned about responsible financial practices including how to budget their money and cash versus credit.
Organizers say it is never too early to teach kids about their money.
The event was put together by the Kansas State Treasurer's office, the Kansas Credit Union Association and the Capital Chapter of Credit Unions.
