TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) _ Retailer Payless ShoeSource plans to give out 65,000 reduced-price or free pairs of shoes to children over the next two months through a partnership with local nonprofit organizations.
Today, the Topeka-based company is announcing the Payless Gives Shoes 4 Kids program. It will provide $15 gift coupons toward a pair of shoes at any of its almost 4,000 U.S. stores.
Payless is asking nonprofits interested in helping distribute the shoe coupons to apply at its Web site (www.paylessgives.com) through Nov. 21. After that, the company will select the charities.
