Police Search for Purse Snatcher

TOPEKA, Kan. - Topeka Police continue to investigate a purse theft and a purse snatch robbery. The first occurred in the parking lot of Kohl’s Department Store, 6130 SW 17th at 10:45 pm on Sunday, November 9th.

Police say the female victim had set her purse down when the suspect came by, picked up her purse and ran south then west around Kohl’s, on foot. The suspect was described as a black male, early 20’s, 5’7” – 5’8”, 180 pounds, wearing a red hoodie that zipped up the front, dark jeans and appeared to be clean cut. There were no reported injuries during the incident.

The purse snatch occurred in the parking lot of the the Clubhouse Inn & Suites, 924 SW Henderson on Sunday, November 9th at 11:40 pm. The female victim was walking from her vehicle to the hotel when the incident occurred. The suspect description in the purse snatch was identical to the suspect description given by the victim at Kohl’s. The suspect ran from the area on foot. There were no reported injuries during the incident.

The suspect in both incidents is described as a black male, early 20’s, 5’7”-5’8”, 180 pounds, wearing a red hoodie that zipped up the front, dark jeans and appeared clean cut.
