Veterans Honored at Topeka/Shawnee Co. Library

Veterans were honored five days early at the Topeka Shawnee County Library with an impressive display of military might.

Restored vehicles brought military history to life on the library grounds along with reenactors portraying veterans from World War I to the present day.

The docudrama life story of a 95-year-old veteran premiered at the library.

A retired Air Force Colonel, who's also a Kansan, delivered tonight's keynote speech. He talked about his experiences in the military and why he decided to fly fighter jets.

Veterans Day observances were held today at the library because they'll be closed for the holiday.
