The Topeka Police Department and the Safe Streets Coalition received a $1,000 check from Target to help make Topeka a safer place to live.
The money will assist the two groups with the Lock It, Remove It or Lose It campaign. The effort is designed to reduce thefts from vehicles during the holiday season.
Officials say that by reducing break-ins, Topeka will become a safer city that offers a good quality of life for residents.
