Topeka Developer Threatened in Graffiti

Topeka Police Detectives are investigating graffiti left on Developer Gene Jani's garage door as criminal damage to property and making a criminal threat.

Someone spray painted a leave or die message on one of the garage doors at his house.

Jani's wife and 8-year-old daughter were the first to see the graffiti. Jani said he didn't want to comment on the issue Thursday. He told the Topeka Capital-Journal yesterday he was most upset that the threat was seen by his young daughter.

Anyone with information on the vandalism of Jani's garage door is asked to call detectives or crime stoppers at 234-0007. Callers could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000.
