As a part of the Kansas Family Partnership's Red Ribbon Week, a Black Hawk Helicopter visited students from Capital City Schools and Whitson Elementary Wednesday. The goal of the visit was to stop kids from using drugs, alcohol and tobacco.
The National Guard's Black Hawk took off from Forbes Field with several community leaders on board. It landed at Hummer Sports Park and was greeted by more than 100 students.
Local educators and the Lieutenant Governor spoke to the students about how doing drugs can hurt their chances of success. After the ceremony, students had the opportunity to take a tour of the helicopter.
