A new $22 million science center on the University of Kansas campus has some lofty goals -- both for the state and the health care of everyone.

The Structural Biology Center will focus on creating and testing new drugs that fight diseases such as cancer. The hope is, if the next big cancer breakthrough occurs on a university campus instead of a drug-maker's lab, it could save people big time money.

The lab also hopes to develop new ways to fight disease, which they say will bring jobs to the state.
