LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) _ Former President George H.W. Bush is to speak at the Lied Center in Lawrence on Nov. 16 and will receive the 2008 Dole Leadership Prize.
The nation's 41st president is to be interviewed by Dole Institute director Bill Lacy, then will take questions from the audience at the event, which is to be open to the public.
Lacy says Bush was chosen for the prize because of his years of public service as a congressman, director of the CIA, vice president and ultimately president of the United States.
He says other details of Bush's visit are still being worked out.
