A ground-breaking ceremony kicks off the beginning phases of a new hospice facility in Manhattan. The Homecare and Hospice Foundation held the ceremony Monday at the future site of the Hospice House.
A $550,000 grant from the Mabee Foundation of Tulsa, Oklahoma allowed them to begin work. Organizers say it's a much needed project for the Manhattan area.
They hope to have the facility completed in one year. The foundation has raised $4.3 million toward its goal.
