Fort Riley Soldiers to Participate in Eisenhower Center Ceremony

ABILENE, Kan. – Former President Dwight D. Eisenhower will be honored at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 11 during a ceremony at the Eisenhower Center.

Brig. Gen. John Davoren, assistant adjutant general of the Kansas National Guard, and Command Sgt. Maj. James Champagne, the 1st Infantry Division command sergeant major, will represent the president of the United States in the annual Presidential Wreath Laying Ceremony.

This ceremony is in honor of Eisenhower’s birthday.

Soldiers from the 1st Engineer Battalion, 1st Brigade, 1st Inf. Div. will provide the honor cordon. Staff Sgt. Stephen Miles, a bugler and Sgt. Travis Drabek, a drummer from the 1st Inf. Div. Band will perform during the ceremony.
