LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) _ Lawrence police say alcohol was a factor
in a crash that killed a University of Kansas student a short
distance from his home.
A police report issued yesterday said 26-year-old Neil
Hockenbarger was driving recklessly and too fast for conditions,
and was under the influence of alcohol when the car crashed on
October 2nd. The 2008 Mazda missed a turn and went out of control,
then slammed into a power pole and a tree.
Hockenbarger died at the scene. His 25-year-old wife, Tiffany
Hockenbarger, suffered minor cuts and bruises.
