International Walk-to-School Day Celebrated in Topeka

Topeka school kids celebrate pedestrian safety with International Walk to School Day. Scott Magnet School held a walk-home activity this afternoon.

The school started with an assembly to discuss safe pedestrian habits with the kids. Then volunteers walked with groups of kids a few blocks from the school to demonstrate how they should behave.

Safe Kids Shawnee County hopes to get the community involved in finding safe routes for kids to take when walking to school.
