A Kansas town receives a letter asking forgiveness for a sixty-year-old theft.
The Abilene City Commission received a letter from a man named Bob asking to be forgiven for taking a 35-cent toy in 1943 or 44.
The letter carried a Colorado post mark. He said he did not identify himself to avoid embarrassing any relatives he might have around Abilene.
10 dollars were enclosed to pay for his dishonesty. Bob hoped the money could go to descendants of the store's owners or to a needy family.
The money was donated to Toys for Tots.
