Thirteen big wheels helped deliver meals to homebound citizens of Topeka today.
Meals on Wheels invited community leaders to learn about the program's mission Thursday.
First they met at Stormont Vail for a short orientation and then they loaded upand hit the road. They helped on a route with a volunteer.
Topeka Mayor Bill Bunten was among those helping out. Others included City Councilmen Jack Woelfel and Richard Harmon. County Commissioner Shelly Buhler and United Way CEO Miriam Kreihbel were also on hand, to lend a helping hand.
