TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- The Shawnee County Sheriff's office has identified the three year old boy killed in a swing accident as Maximus J. Blindt.
Blindt passed away Wednesday, July 25. Authorities say one of his parents called 911 at about 12:16 p.m. because the boy was unresponsive. They say he sustained injuries while in the backyard playing on a swing set.
The young boy was not breathing when AMR and deputies arrived to his home near Forbes Field, which also operates as a day care center. An ambulance took him to Stormont Vail Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Authorities say there were 10 children at the day care center at the time of the accident. Maximus has been identified as being the son of the child care provider.
The Sheriff's Office says the death does not appear to be suspicious, but as protocol, the incident is under investigation by Detectives with the Shawnee County Sheriff's Office.
