RUSSELL, Kan. (AP) _ Investigators say they haven't been able to pinpoint the cause of a $1 million fire that destroyed 15 boats at Lake Wilson Marina in Russell County.
Sheriff John Fletcher said Thursday that the boat where the fire is believed to have started is at the bottom of the lake, but in such bad condition that it can't be moved. He said the cause of Wednesday's fire is still listed as undetermined.
The Russell County Sheriff's Department, the State Fire Marshal's office and Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms are investigating.
The blaze destroyed 11 houseboats, two sailboats, a pontoon boat and one speedboat.
Marina employees pushed several boats out of their slips and away from the fire before they were lost.
No injuries were reported.
