WU Olympian Talks About Olympic Dream

A gold medalist visited his alma mater in Topeka Thursday. Albert Guardo Jr. returned to Washburn University to talk about his Olympic dream.

He won the gold medal in 1996 in boxing.

Film footage from his winning fight, his gold medal and his boxing belt were all on display Thursday.

In 1997, the Washburn Student Government commissioned a sculpture to honor Guardado's accomplishments.
