At 8:00 prompt this morning several eager Civil Air Patrol Cadets arrived at Forbes Field Air National Guard Base to spend the day with the 190th Air Refueling Wing.

The Cadets would learn about the 190th's mission as well as the Kansas National Guard. They also had the opportunity to see first-hand the in-flight refueling operations that the 190th has been doing for more than 25 years.

The Civil Air Patrol Cadets flew with the Kansas Coyotes on a refueling mission to see a B-2 bomber receive fuel while soaring above the Great Plains.

The Civil Air Patrol Cadets make up about 10 percent of each year's freshman class at the U.S. Air Force Academy. The Civil Air Patrol's mission is to build responsible citizens through leadership and aviation. The Patrol offers more than $200,000 in college scholarships each year to help achieve that mission.
