A group of state employees were recognized for their years of hard work Monday morning.
An award ceremony was held at the Kansas Museum of History for workers that have given 40 and 50 years of service to the state of Kansas.
Governor Kathleen Sebelius was on hand to present the awards to the group.
Dr. L.T. Fan, a chemical engineer at Kansas State University, was honored for 50 years on the job.
Dr. Fan began his career in 1958 as an instructor, before going on to become the department head. He currently holds the title of University Distinguished Professor and The Mark H. and Margaret H. Hulings Chair of Engineering.
Dr. Fan says he enjoys what he does and has no plans to retire in the near future.
