A big donation for Hummer Sports park today from one of its namesakes.
Louise Hummer gave $50,000 to the sports park endowment fund.
The park is named after her and her husband, former Topeka police chief Dana Hummer after Louise made a $360,000 donation in 2003.
They started the Police Athletic League program when he was the police chief and that started his love of helping youth in the community. Now Louise is hoping to continue his legacy.
Today's donation comes on the fifth anniversary of the first sporting event ever held at the facility.
