KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) _ A former Johnson County teacher has
been sentenced to more than four years in prison for using a computer to entice a minor to engage in sexual activity.
U.S. Attorney Eric Melgren said 58-year-old Davis Hazlett of Olathe received the 51-month sentence Monday stemming from an online chat with two minor girls in 2003. He had pleaded guilty in February.
Prosecutors said Hazlett, posing as a boy named Ely, convinced the girls to undress in front of their Web camera, and he saved the images to the hard drive of his computer.
The crime was discovered in July 2007 when an apartment manager told Johnson County deputies that child porn had been found on the
computer in Hazlett's apartment. Hazlett's computer was left behind
when he was evicted.
Investigators found 34 videos and 1,900 images of child pornography on the computer.
