Police are investigating two incidents at Topeka banks Monday morning, a robbery at a UMB bank which occurred just over an hour after an attempted robbery at another bank.
Police have not disclosed how much was taken from the UMB Bank. A lone man entered the bank at 2014 NW Topeka Blvd. just before noon and after making threats left with the money, according to police reports.
They describe the suspect as a white man in his twenties, about 5'10" tall and weighing around 175 lbs. he was last seen wearing a white cap, a white t-shirt, and blue jeans.
This incident followed another one around 10:30 a.m. in which a suspect of the same description walked into a Kaw Valley State Bank & Trust also making threats. There though he left without taking any money.
