(Topeka, KS)--A grandmother escaped a house fire with her two grandchildren in tow Sunday morning. She was unhurt, as was her granddaughter. The grandson was taken to a local hospital with possible smoke inhalation.
The cause of the fire is unknown, though fire investigators were on the scene. There is no damage estimate as of yet.
The fire was primarily kept in the upstairs portion of the two-story home. The downstairs was salvageable, despite some water damage.
Firefighters say they put a tarp over much of the family's personal belongings to try to save what they could from water leaking from the second floor.
There were many personal items outside of the home.
