Partial Smoking Ban in Wichita Takes Effect

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) - Wichita's partial smoking ban takes effect today. Much of the focus has been on bars and restaurants, but the ban affects every business in the city.

Businesses have 30 days to post No Smoking signs at entrances.

City officials say 160 businesses have applied for a permit to allow smoking if they keep anyone younger than 18 from entering.
