Parts of Kansas are seeing an unexpected side effect of higher gas prices and a government glitch, official tags for motorcycles are running low.
The problem is bad enough that counties with plentiful plates are being asked to share with other counties.
Shawnee county is one that has not had a problem keeping tags in stock.
Jackson county is completely out, and won't have any more for a week or two.
Pottawatomie county was out for two weeks, but did get a few extra tags from other counties.
Wabaunsee county is down to three remaining.
