INMAN, Kan. (AP) _ The Kansas Sampler Foundation announces 24 finalists for its 8 Wonders of Kansas Art contest.
The Inman-based organization says its 8 Wonders of Kansas contests encourage Kansans to decide what noteworthy artwork stands out the most in the state. The art competition is an offshoot of the foundation's 8 Wonders of Kansas contest.
Kansans nominated a variety of artwork from around the state and the foundation pared down the entries to 24 finalists. Online voting will decide the winners.
The voting deadline is Oct. 15, and winners will be announced Oct. 31.
The finalists range from paintings, sculptures, memorials, church ornamentation, folk art and a woman's crayon and pencil drawings that she created to treat her depression.
