Topeka police are investigating a Friday morning shooting. It happened around 1:15 a.m. in the 1900 block of Pennsylvania. Authorities responded to the area after they received a call from a neighboring house that someone had been shot.
When authorities arrived on the scene they found a male in his early 20's that had been shot in the upper body. He claimed his car was stolen after the incident.
The victim was taken to the hospital but his injuries do not appear to be life-threatening. Police don't know if the shooting was intentional, or if the victim was struck by accident.
Police are asking for assistance from the public in finding the stolen vehicle. It was last seen going northbound on Pennsylvania. The vehicle is described as a 4- door, Chevy Malibu that is purple in color.
