WICHITA, Kan. (AP) _ Spirit AeroSystems says it will design and build the fuselage for the Cessna Citation Columbus at a new factory on its Wichita site.
The company said it expects to invest about $260 million and create 700 jobs with a $42 million payroll over the next five years.
Plans call for building a new 375,000-square-foot facility to manufacture the Columbus fuselage and handle other new work.
Spirit Chief Executive Officer Jeff Turner said the company was able to combine its own money with state and local incentives to maintain and grow jobs in Kansas.
