A Lawrence man has pleaded guilty to child pornography charges after investigators found almost 23,000 images in his possession.
50-year-old Richard McNett's wife gave authorities floppy disks from his computer.
His wife told investigators she became concerned when he locked himself in a room with a computer and would not let anyone in.
Investigators eventually found 1,202 images of child pornography on diskettes, 7,740 images on his hard drive, and 13,990 images on CDs. Using the Child Victim Identification Program, investigators identified 559 images of known victims.
He now faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000. His sentencing is set for December 1st.
